A blog about satisfying my own curiosity.

Mostly about math, physics and computer science.
But also kanjis and modular origami.

Geometry : Polycubes

Once again, I am making a viewer, this time the challenge is about handling very large datasets of polycubes. Everything started from a YouTube video, what a surprise !

Misc : Bad Apple Voxel Animation

Running the Bad Apple video on any device is an entertaining challenge on the internet. I had the idea when working on the polycube viewer.

Geometry : Vertex topology in 3D space

I've already tackled the problem in 2D. Here is the rest of the story in one more dimension. It is unexpectedly simple ! Yeah !

Misc : Supermag Sets

Plastwood, the maker of Supermag Magnetic Genius produced a very large number of lines and sets. Here is a compilation.

Misc : Supermag Magazines

During its golden age, Plastwood published a Supermag Magnetic Genius magazine. Here are the scans of the issues I could get my hands on in French and Italian.

Geometry : Geomag Models and Search Bar

I have added a new feature to the viewer, namely a way to search for a specific polyhedron according to its number of vertices, faces and other filters. There is also new Geomag and Supermag models as well as the corresponding render style.

Geometry : Golden Rhombic and Edge Augmented Polyhedra

The golden ratio is a mathematic wonder that when applied to polyhedra outputs a new category surprising by its properties. It led to edge augmented polyhedra and some improvements of the viewers.

Rendering : Light Intensity Profile

Imagine you have a light emitting object into your hands, what is its intensity profile ?

Rendering : Rutherford-Bohr atom model

An attempt at representing atoms according to the not so accurate Rutherford-Bohr model since I could not find an interactive viewer online.
